Building Your Dream is an Adventure Worth Taking

The entire homebuilding process typically takes approximately nine months to a year. Many steps in the process are contingent on completion of the prior step, so it’s important to understand that a delay in one step can have an impact on the entire timeline. If this process feels overwhelming, the good news is you don’t have to do it alone. We will help you navigate every step of the way.

STEP 1

Custom Home Consultation

The first step in building your dream home is to schedule a consultation with an experienced custom home specialist. This initial meeting allows you to discuss your vision, preferences, and specific needs, ensuring that every detail is tailored to your lifestyle. Our specialists will guide you through the process, answer any questions, and help you understand the possibilities for your custom home, setting the foundation for a seamless and personalized building experience.

STEP 2

Free Site Cost Analysis

We will conduct a complimentary Site Cost Analysis, which includes 2 site visits, to ensure the land is suited for building and to determine the estimated site preparation costs. Site preparation will include all items that make the land ready to accept a home and make that home livable, such as, but not limited to:

  • Accessibility – temporary and permanent driveways
  • Prep work required for building – clearing trees and brush, demolition of existing structures, dirt removal, finish grading.
  • Landscaping needs after home is built
  • Utility needs – public sewer and water or well and septic. Electric, phone, cable, natural gas hookups.
  • Zoning laws, permits, tests and inspection requirements
  • Engineering needs
  • Easements and right-of-ways
  • Covenants and restrictions (e.g., Are outbuildings allowed, is it being built in a community governed by a Homeowners Association?)
  • Trash haul
  • Administrative fees

STEP 3

Floor Plan Selection

Selecting a floor plan is a key step in the custom home building process, offering the choice between expertly designed layouts or your own unique design. After choosing your floor plan, you’ll attend an Inspiration Session with a design consultant to explore customization options. From materials and finishes to fixtures and color palettes, our consultants provide expert guidance to ensure every detail reflects your personal style and functional needs.

STEP 4

Begin Construction

Starting construction is when your custom home vision begins to take shape. Our skilled builders bring your floor plan and design choices to life with precision and quality. Throughout this phase, you’ll have periodic meetings with your Project Manager to stay informed of progress, address any concerns, and ensure the project remains on schedule. These updates provide transparency and peace of mind, allowing you to actively participate while we handle the details with care.

STEP 5

Finishing Touches

The final phase involves adding the finishing touches to your home, including fixtures, paint, cabinetry, and landscaping. Our team ensures every detail is perfected, both inside and out, to reflect your style and enhance functionality. This meticulous attention to detail ensures your home is beautiful, functional, and ready for you to move in and enjoy.

STEP 6

Final Walkthrough

The final walk-through and new home orientation are essential steps before moving in. During the walk-through, you’ll inspect the property to ensure it meets your expectations and note any final adjustments. In the orientation, we’ll familiarize you with your home’s features, systems, and maintenance tips; ensuring you feel confident and comfortable with all its functions.

STEP 7

Certificate of Occupancy

Receiving the Certificate of Occupancy (CO) marks the completion of your home’s construction, indicating it meets all safety and building code requirements. Upon receiving the CO, you’ll send the final payment to Regal, finalizing the financial aspect of your custom home project. This step ensures that all contractual obligations are met, allowing you to move into your new home with confidence.

STEP 8

Move In!

Receiving the keys to your new home marks the culmination of your custom home journey. As you step into your brand-new space, every detail reflects your style and enhances your lifestyle. Moving in signifies the beginning of a new chapter, filled with memories and moments that will be cherished for years to come. Enjoy settling into your dream home and creating lasting experiences within its walls.

NOTE: Current market conditions, resulting in supply chain volatility and labor shortages, have resulted in extended and somewhat unpredictable start and construction time periods. Your patience with these unprecedented delays is greatly appreciated.
